Son of John and Pauline Popp Maier. On Dec. 30, 1945, he married Ilene V. WITTMAN in Bazine. She survives. Other survivors include: two sons, Dennis and his wife Margaret, Bazine, and Michael and his wife Sandi, Ness City; a daughter, Linnell Maier, Wichita; two sisters, Edna Wegele, Ness City, and Nadine Oppliger, Wichita; four grandchildren, Craig Maier and his wife Tracy, Lakewood, Colo., Blaine Gabel, Ness City, Michelle Spainhower, Augusta, and Melissa Maier, Seattle; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor and Zach Maier, Lakewood, Colo., Dalton and Darienne Maier, Wichita, Marissa, Quentin and Jordyn Spainhower, Augusta. He was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin L. Maier; and a grandson, Scott Maier. Burial will be in Bazine Cemetery.
