The death of Mrs. Benedict Haas, 69, occurred Monday night in her home 1655 Stitt street after an illness of only two days from heart disease and complications.
Mrs. Haas was born, May 23, 1875 in Switzerland to Christain and Elizabeth (Coffee) Cavegen. She came to this country in 1901. She was married 50 years ago to Benedict Haas who survives. Children surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Donald Hollingshead, Mrs. Joseph Garner, and Mrs. Joseph Sele and two sons, Amie and Max Haas, all of Wabash. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. One son and several brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
Mrs. Haas attended the St. Bernard's Catholic church. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Wire Funeral home where the body has been taken and where friends may call. The Rev. Leo A Hoffmann will officiate and burial will be in Falls cemetery.
