Services for Carl Christian Kroll, 76, route 3, will be held at the Georgas Funeral Home at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, and at 2 p.m. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Christie (Clark Co.). Mr. Kroll died at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, at 3 p.m. Saturday.
Burial will be made in the Neillsville Cemetery, the Rev. Walter Schedler officiating. The body will lie in state at the funeral home.
Mr. Kroll was born in Germany, Nov. 19, 1872. He received his education there and came to the U.S. by himself in 1893, locating on a farm in the Taylorville, Ill. area. He was married to Anna M. Boge, Feb. 19, 1895, at Decatur, Ill.
After their marriage they continued farming in Illinois for 11 years before coming to Clark County, where they located on a farm in the Town of Weston. He had lived there since Dec. 24, 1905.
He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Elsa Radue, Wausau, and two sons, Henry, at home, and Edward, Town of York. A second daughter, Mrs. Dave Seif, died in 1945.
There are 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Anna Jens, lives on a farm in Germany. Three sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
