"Clemens H. Bettinger - Retired Contractor, 96 - Clemens H. Bettinger, retired building contractor of Denver, died Nov. 10 in University Hills Christian Living Center. He was 96. Services were November Nov. 14 at St. Vincent de Paul Church. Interment was in Mount Olivet Cemetery. He was born April 27, 1894, in St. Bernard, Neb. On Oct. 15, 1925, he married Josephine A. Hough in Denver. She is deceased. Bettinger was a contractor for the Colburn Hotel. In the 1930s he assisted with the renovation of the Cruise Room at the Oxford Hotel and several theaters on Curtis Street. He was a member of Leyden Chiles, Wickersham Post No. 1 American Legion, LCW Men's Glee Club, Last Squad, Contractors' Union Local No. 32, Denver Municipal Trap Club, Over 30 Club, Holy Name Society, and Church of St. Vincent de Paul. He served in World War I. He is survived by one daughter...; a son...; one brother, Larry A., Apache Junction, Ariz. (deceased in 2005); 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. A second son, William J., is deceased (1977). Contributions may be made to University Hills Christian Living Campus at 2480 S. Clermont St. Denver, 80220."
