Edna Pooker age 98, of Festus, Missouri, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017, at Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing in Crystal City, Missouri. Mrs. Pooker was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, Missouri, where she was an active LWML member. She served as organist for the Zion congregation for much of her adult life. She lived a life of service to family and friends, her church and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She was born October 23, 1918, in Hillsboro, the daughter of the late Emilie (nee Linhorst) and Otto Steinbach. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Harold C. Pooker, and her grandson, Matthew John Pooker.
Mrs. Pooker is survived by 3 daughters, Bernice (Robert) Nissen of Pearl River, New York, Evelyn Brassie of Southern Pines, North Carolina, and Janice (David) Koopsman of Grafton, Wisconsin; one son, Norman (Lois) Pooker of Festus; seven granddaughters; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
