Photographer Dies Suddenly

Opened First Home Studio Here

Guy Alvin Rogers, aged 64, 3102 East Central, died unexpectedly in his home Sunday night.

Mr. Rogers was born July 1, 1884, in Wichita. He was a photographer by profession and opened the first resident photographic studio in this city, learning the profession from his father who was one of Wichita's early day cameramen.

A member of the Professional Photographers association, Rogers had one of the largest collections of early day photos in the city. He had been at his present location for the past 26 years, and possessed many pictures of Wichita businessmen and women taken when they were children.

Survivors include his widow, Gertrude, of the home address; two sisters, Mrs. V. E. Poor, Ann Arbor, Mich., and Marguerite Rogers, Richland, Wash., and a brother, Burt A., 157 North Martinson.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Downing mortuary. Rev. W. E. McCoy will officiate. Burial will take place in Old Mission cemetery.
