The community was greatly shocked Monday, February 16, to learn of the sudden death of John Christopher Dosdall at his home in Zumbro Falls. He was apparently enjoying his usual good health when on Monday he was stricken with paralysis of the heart.
Mr. Dosdall was at the time of his death 74 years, 2 months, and 22 days of age. He was born at Runow, Germany on November 24, 1850 and came to this country with his parents in the year 1864, when 14 years of age. The family settled at Potsdam where he resided until manhood. On Nov. 10, 1873 he was united in marriage to Miss Augusta Zahn and they settled on a farm near this village which was their home until fifteen years ago when they moved to Zumbro Falls.
To this union eleven children were born, five of whom have preceded him in death. He is survived by his aged wife and six children namely; Henry and Edw. Dosdall of Hancock, Minn., Mrs. Herman Draheim of Olivia, MInn., Mrs. Albert Kurth of Mazeppa, Mrs. Thomas Greer of Cleveland, N. Dak., and Geo. Dosdall of Zumbro Falls.
