She was born January 10, 1921, on a farm south of Seneca, the daughter of Joseph and Teresa Dalsing Ronnebaum. She attended Diamond Country School and Sts. Peter and Paul School in Seneca. She helped on the family farm, did domestic work, and helped neighboring families with child care.
On January 11, 1938, she married Francis Zelfer at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Seneca. They lived in the Goff, Centralia and Seneca are. She worked with her husband did the bookkeeping for Zelfer John Deere Implement in Goff. In 1954, they moved to Hutchinson, KIS, where they opened Zelfer John Deere Implement. They were divorced in 1960, and she moved to Seneca with her daughters.
She was employed from 1964 to 1975 at Crestview Nursing Home and the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital. She was a personal attendent for Dr. Hash, D.O.
On February 14, 1976, she married Frenchie Levret at Seneca. They lived on a farm east of Kelly. He died April 20, 1988. She lived in Seneca before entering the nursing home in 1992.
She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Church and St. Ann's Altar Society at the church in Seneca. She was a former member of St. James Church in Wetmore, where she served as president of the altar society. She was also active in Holy Cross Church and the Carey Park Golf Association, both in Hutchinson. Her main job was being a mother.
Survivors are sons, Robert Zelfer, Cape Fair, MO; Jerry Zelfer, Abbeyville, KS; daughters, Joan Weldon, Wichita, KS; Bonnie Brinker, Seneca, KS; Connie Lierz, Kimberling City, MO; sister, Odelia Brokamp, Centralia, KS; 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brothers, Albert Ronnebaum; Paul Ronnebaum; sisters, Bernadine Broxterman and Clara Mueting.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.
