His survivors include his fiancée, Carmen Garcia and a daughter, Anita Bertling, both of the home; his father: Steven Bertling & wife Sonia of Holden, MO; his mother: Barbara Halford & husband Chris of Mangum, OK; three sisters: Denyse Ward of Lee's Summit, MO, Lisa Bertling of Mangum, OK, and Rachel Bertling of Holden, MO; one step-brother: Branden Halford of Mangum, OK; and his maternal grandmother: Elizabeth Murphhy Dubuque, IA.
He was a victim of murder.
