Marian V. Zipfel, 76, of Evansport, died Saturday afternoon, Aug. 25, 2001, in the Toledo Hospital.
The daughter of Hazel (Mains) and Ralph Partee, she was born Oct. 9, 1924, in Tiffin Township in Defiance County. On Oct. 4, 1942, she married Herb W. Zipfel at St. Stephen's Catholic Church - The Bend, and he survives.
A graduate of Tiffin Township High School, where she was class valedictorian, she was a homemaker and a member of the Defiance VFW 3360 Auxiliary and the Defiance DAV Auxiliary. Surviving, in addition to her husband are three sons, William Zipfel of Cincinnati, Michael and Stephan Zipfel, both of Defiance; two daughters, Mrs. Gary (Sandra) Carnahan and Mrs. Larry (Susan) Mekus, both of Defiance; a brother, Dale Partee of Chapel Hill, N.C.; a sister, Mrs. Robert (Diane) Miller of Louisville, Ky.; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-9 p.m. at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home in Defiance. Services will be Wednesday at noon in the funeral home, with Father Dave Tscherne officiating. Entombment will be in Riverview Memory Gardens.
