On Oct. 27, 1956, she was united in marriage to Allyn Guay, at Fifth Avenue Methodist Church, in West Bend, with her father presiding.

Joanne was a very active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lomira, where she established the church nursery and taught young adult classes.
The construction of the new Lomira Library was a project very dear to Joanne and she spent many hours assisting in the planning of the new library. She was a longtime member of the Lomira Library Board, where she served as president for many years, and she organized the community Book Club.
Over the years Joanne was involved in her community as a Boy Scout leader, a Brownie leader, was a local PTA founder, volunteered at the Red Cross Blood Bank and the Food Pantry, and started the Adopt a Highway in the area.
Some of her favorite pastimes included playing bridge, stamp collecting and traveling, including most of the United States, Canada, tours of Europe, New Zealand and Mexico.
Joanne touched the lives of many people. She will be deeply missed by her husband, her family and by all who knew her.
