Karin Kitty Krohn, 85, passed away in Seguin, Texas, on Monday, Aug. 24, 2009. A memorial service will be held in Waco, at 5 p.m. Sept. 19, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Karin was born in Riga, Latvia, to the late Dr. Woldemar and Catherina von Huebschmann. Karin, with her husband, Dr. Walter Krohn and their son Tom, immigrated to America in 1953 and moved to Waco in 1961. After being widowed in 1983, she continued to live in Waco for a total of 45 years until she moved to Seguin. Karin was active in the Waco Symphony, Waco Civic Theater, and volunteered in several local charities. She was also a respected artist displaying paintings throughout Central Texas. Karin's passions were her friendships, the arts, ballroom dancing, and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Walter Krohn; and brothers, Edgar and Bruno von Huebschmann.

Karin is survived by her sons, Dr. Tom Krohn and wife, Jill, of Seguin, Klaus Krohn, of Austin and Martin Krohn, of The Woodlands; grandchildren, Dr. Kim Albracht and husband, Matt, of New Braunfels, Kara Huesser and husband, Denny, of Buda, Kelli Fairbairn, of Seguin, Kelsey and Colton Krohn, of Austin, Alex and Marlee Krohn, of The Woodlands; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, John, Lauren, and Brooke Albracht, of New Braunfels, Hayley and Hayden Huesser, of Buda, and Jack Fairbairn, of Seguin; and sisters, Dagmar Hock, Dr. Edith Schroeder, and Ellen Steinen, of Germany.
