Stanley Evers, 58, of Sterling died on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999 in Liberal, Kan.
Viewing and visitation will be today, Friday, Aug. 27 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Tennant Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Saturday, Aug. 28 at 10:30 am. at First English Lutheran Church in Sterling. Rev. Andrew Dimit will be officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Evers was born on July 20. 1941 in Sterling to Henry R. and Anna M. (Nordholm)Evers.
He was a lifetime resident of the Sterling area. He graduated from Sterling High School in 1959 and attended Northeastern Junior College.
He married Claudine Kesner on Oct. 12, 1962 in Sterling. He retired from Excel Beef Company in Sterling in Nov. 1997. Mr. Evers was currently a production manager for Bay World Trading, Limited of San Francisco, Calif.
He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed home remodeling
and spending time at his mountain cabin in Crystal Lakes, Co., and being with his family. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife Claudine Evers of Sterling; one son, Stanley E. Evers Jr. and wife Tami of Platteville one brother, Roger Evers and wife Connie of Thornton; one, sister, Linda Bersch and hus band Bob of Loveland; three granddaughters, Taylor, Bailey; and Ryahn Evers, all of Plat teville; one niece, Anna Evers of Thornton; two nephews,, Loren and Layton Bersch of Loveland; and several aunts; uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
