Hillsboro Farm Youth Is Killed In Tractor Crash

A 17-year-old Hillsboro area farm youth was killed Friday when a tractor he was driving crashed into a gully in the town of Hillsboro. Dead was Larry Paul Blaha, 17, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Blaha, Hillsboro. He was a senior at Hillsboro High School.

Vernon county traffic patrolman, Henry Downing, who investigated the accident, said Blaha was apparently towing a trailer up a hill on a town road, when he looked back long enough to allow the tractor to swerve into the gully. He was pinned under the tractor. He died instantly. The wreck was discovered about 10 minutes after it happened by a passerby. Blaha was working on the Austin Walker farm at the time of the accident. His death was ruled accidental by the Vernon county coroner.

Survivors include his parents; two brothers, Roger, Hillsboro; and Albert, Kendall; and two sisters, Mrs. Larry Jones, Harvard, IL.: and Mrs. Billie Williams, Janesville.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Hart funeral home, Hillsboro. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday after noon and night.
