Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, April 29 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with the Rev. Tim Bushy officiating. Polly Beyer was the organist and Theresa Erdmann was the soloist. Casketbearers were all of Ralph's grandchildren. Interment was in St. Anthony Cemetery in Terrebonne.
Ralph Anton Dupont was born on December 15, 1915, the son of Archie and Eugenie (Charest) Dupont, in Red Lake County. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls. He attended Perreault Station School, District 32, and graduated from Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls. He also attended Hanson Auto Tractor and Electrical School in Fargo, N.D.
On September 4, 1939, he married Madeline Perreault in Terrebonne. Ralph worked as a mechanic at various garages and farmed in Terrebonne Township. He also worked for Arctic Enterprises for 15 years until his retirement. He enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, reading and tinkering and fixing things. Ralph loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include four children, Gary (Elaine) of Minneapolis, Ron of Denver, Colo., Dean (Paulette) of Red Lake Falls, and Karen (Frank) Knott of Red Lake Falls; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Norma (Robert) Huntsinger of Astoria, Ore.
Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Madeline; one daughter, Glorianne (Dupont) Kargel; a great-granddaughter; his parents; two brothers, Alarie and Donald; and one sister, Irene Novak.
