Mary, age 99, of Milwaukee, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Milwaukee Catholic Home. Mary was a 1930 Marquette University graduate. She will be extremely missed by everyone close to her. She selflessly and perpetually took an extraordinary interest in the well-being of others. Mary was an R.N. in her 20's, and she continued to hold pride in that profession. Mary was known to be a good sport about everything with an outstanding sense of humor. She was respected and admired by all, having a great mind and personality. Her doctors were impressed with her on a personal level. As a testament, she had open-heart surgery at the age of 93. She will be so missed by those close to her that in an imaginary way it will be as if every tree in the world was suddenly removed. Not many ordinary people leave that kind of impact. She would consider them over statements - they are not. Preceded in death by her dear husband O.F. Gerlach on Oct. 19, 1989. Adored mother of Ann M. (William) Wedewart and John O. (Lorraine) Gerlach.

Services were held at the Feerick Funeral Home on Thursday. Interment was private.
