Theodore Jefferson Darnell, 71, life-long resident of Pemiscot county, died at his home in this city on Saturday, March 24 and funeral services were held the following Sunday afternoon in the H.S. Smith Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. John L. Sennett officiating. Burial was in Little Prairie Cemetery.
Mr. Darnell was born December 9, 1890, at Braggadocio, the son of George and Mary Darnell. He had been a farmer for many years.
In Caruthersville, in 1922, he was married to Miss Eva Whitaker, who passed away on June 30, 1930 and on November 26, 1935, at Osceola, Ark., he was married to Mrs. Louise Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Agnes Schaubert of St. Louis; a sister, Miss Carrie Darnell of Braggadocio; a step-daughter, Mrs. Frances Gurley of this city; and two grandchildren.
