GEORGE JACKSON PASSES AWAY
George W. Jackson, pioneer resident and a lifelong citizen of this county, died Monday, December 5, at his home north of this city. He was 77 years and 26 days of age.
Funeral services were held at Timber Ridge Church Wednesday afternoon conducted by Rev. E. N. Webb, assisted by Rev. J. L. Leonard. An unusually large number of people were present. Burial took place in the cemetery under direction of W. T. McMahan Undertakers.
Mr. Jackson was born November 9, 1855. He lived his entire life in this neighborhood.
He was married to Sarah Lowder, January 18, 1876. To this union five children were born. One infant son preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Sarah, one daughter, Mrs. Dean Miller of Marshfield; three sons, John, of Marshfield, Carl of Kansas City, and Gus, of Waterloo, Iowa. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and many other relatives.
Mr. Jackson was an active member of the Timber Ridge church for over fifty years.
