William A. Poch, 76, of Cheyenne died Sept. 5 at United Medical Center-West.

He was born April 30, 1923, in Weldon, Iowa, to Phyllis Ruth and Paul E. Poch. He came to Cheyenne with his parents in 1935.

He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II in the Philippines. He was honorably discharged at Fort Douglas, Utah, on Feb. 24, 1946.

On Oct. 27, 1950, he married Betty L. Ames in Cheyenne.

Poch worked as a loan officer and office manager for Nation Wide Finance, Citicorp - Person to Person and Centennial Mortgage where he retired in 1986.

He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 660 in Cheyenne and the Sigma Chi fraternity, University of Wyoming chapter.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Poch; two sons, Larry and Kevin Poch, both of Cheyenne; one daughter, Deborah Drummond of Cheyenne; four brothers, Phil Poch of Aurora, Colo., Robert Poch of Thermopolis, Charles Poch of Woodburn, Ore., and Eugene Poch of Redding, Calif.; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul, in 1970; his mother, Ruth, in 1993; and two brothers, Keith Poch in 1953 and Harold Poch in 1999.
