Carl "Gustav" was born to Christine Vietze and August Reinholdt Ender at Sohland, Saxony, Germany. He came to the U.S. with his parents, 2 brothers, and 1 sister in 1882. The Ender family settled at Fedor where they purchased land. His 2 brothers, Carl August and Carl Ernest, moved to other parts of Texas but Gustav remained at Fedor. His sister, Ernestine Christine, married Karl Domschke (not sure if this spelling is correct) in 1888 but she died approximately 2 years after they were married. Gustav married Pauline Ernestine Wagner November 27, 1890 in Lee County where they lived the rest of their lives. They had 1 son, John Alvin Ender, born August 1, 1913, died February 14, 1999.
