Audrey Lexxie Robinson Gifford was born August 9, 1913 in Franklinton, Washington Parish, Louisiana, to Sim Jasper Robinson and Myrtice Willard Barwick Robinson. In a story related by Audrey, her parents were in route from Mississippi to Texas, when it became apparent her birth was eminent. They then stopped in this small town for her birth and stayed there for a few months before going on to their destination. Audrey passed away Dec. 21, 2008 in Humble, Texas at the age of 95. She had resided at her dtr. Julia Cooks home for the past two and one half years. Audrey was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband Harold Eugene Gifford, Sept. 30, 1993, at the age of 83. They were 4 months shy of their 60th wedding anniversary, January 25, 1994. They had a very caring and loving married life, and Harold was a great loss to Audrey. They were the parents of three daughters, Myrtice Gifford Forsythe, Julia Gifford Cook, and Patricia Gifford Peavy-Richey. Twelve Grandchildren, Cary Forsythe, Brent Forsythe, Travis Forsythe and Vonda Forsythe. Roxanne Cook, Frank Cook, Renee Cook and Stephanie Cook. Michael Peavy, David Peavy----Matthew Richey and Shanda Richey. Numerous great grandchildren and several Great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sibling Fannie Willard Robinson Provenzano. Her two brothers and one sister are deceased......
Audrey and Harold, both left heritages for their children to be very proud of. Audrey was a very loving mother and one that you could share your good and bad times with. She will be very much missed by her three daughters, their descendants and all of the people that her life has touched.
