Mary Katherina Grosch was born Jun 2, 1833 in Hilbringen, Merzig-Wadern, Saarland, Germany to Peter Nicolas Grosch and Anna Roeder. Peter and Anna arrived in New York on Jan 11 1853 on the ship "Vierge Marie" with their children: Peter age 22, Catharina age 19, and Nicolas age 16. 2 daughters were born to them in Germany and died there before the parents emigrated: Maria born March 30, 1829 and died April 12, 1829, and Rosa born March 24, 1835 and died Jun 1 1843. Nick and Peter were merchant tailors in Kenosha.
Katharina married Leonard Klaesges in 1860, and had 7 children with him:
