Mrs. Ewing was born in Boone County to Thomas F. and Barbara Carl Heller. She attended Columbia High School and received her masters in counseling, from the University of Missouri. She started teaching in rural Boone County Schools, and also in Texas. Mrs. Ewing, taught Jr. High math in Newark and Fremont, California.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Anchan Ewing, of Campbell, California; one daughter, Carol Robinson, of Escalon, California; one brother, James Heller, of Columbia; two grand children.
Mrs. Ewing was preceded in death by four brothers.
Memorials may be given to the Diabetes Association.
