Cleo F. Brown, 90, of Mexico, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016 at the Brookdale-Rose Hill in Shawnee, Kansas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Arnold Funeral Home with Rev. Bryce Kristofferson officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation is Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Cleo was born Nov. 7, 1926 in Curryville, the son of Forrest G. and Janice (Bratcher) Brown. On May 26, 1963 in Mexico, he married L. Onema Gipson. She preceded him in death on Jan. 16, 2008.
Mr. Brown was a general contractor, building many residential homes and commercial buildings in Mexico and the surrounding areas. He was also a member of Centennial Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Lisa Bell of Lenexa, Kansas, Vicky (Barry) Seitz of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Brenda (Jim) Wells of Bowling Green; two sons, Bill Bare of Kansas City and Gary (Maria) Bare of Columbia; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Onema, Cleo was preceded in death by one grandson, Robert James Wells; one brother, Nelson Brown; and one sister, Patsy Sue Maxwell.
