DERBY - Godwin, Melvin A., 81, retired owner of Melvin's Electric for 17 years, died Tuesday, September 29, 2009. Visitation noon to 8pm Wednesday at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Road, Derby; funeral service 10 a.m., Thursday at Woodlawn United Methodist Church, 431 S. Woodlawn, Derby. Melvin is survived by his wife of 55 years, Juanita; daughters, Diana Praeger, Wichita, Linda Staats, Rose Hill, Terry (Jeff) Hamer, Wichita; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and one on the way; siblings, Arlene Burnett, Derby, Don Godwin, Mulvane, Marie LaDuron, Milwaukee, WI. Memorial established with the American Heart Association , 5375 W. 7th St., Topeka, KS 66606.
