Funeral is 10 a.m. Friday, June 16, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Peetz with Father Timo thy Gaines officiating. Burial is at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Peetz. A Parish Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Church in Peetz.
Mr. Fehringer was born Aug. 25, 1897, to George and Katie German Fehringer in Humphrey, Neb. He received his schooling at St. Mary's of the Angels School near Humphrey.
In 1917 he came to Peetz in an emigrant train car bringing his brother John's machinery and live stock He returned to Humphrey to marry Agnes Wieser on Jan. 16, 1923. In March of that same year they moved to Peetz.
He enjoyed gardening, card games, television and reading. He was a member of the Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus Council in Sterling and the Senior Citizens Group in Sidney.
Survivors include his sons, Clarence and wife Marianna Fehringer of Aberdeen, Idaho; Norbert and wife Maxine Fehringer of St. Clair Shores, Mich.; daughter-in-law, Pat Fehringer; daughters, Bernice Roberts of Aurora; Renee and husband Irving Johnson of Hollister, Mo.; Agnes and husband Thomas Weingartz of St. Clair, Mich.; one brother, Theodore Fehringer of Columbus, Neb.; one sister, Bertha Raemaekers of Columbus, Neb.; 27 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Fehringer was preceded in death by his wife Agnes in 1986,
two sons, Walter in 1973 and Ralph in 1937.
