About 1854-56 her family moved to near Birch Tree, Shannon Co, Mo.
Oct 5, 1859 she married William R. Hess in Shannon Co, Mo.

In 1860, 1870 & 1880 they were listed on the Shannon Co, Mo. census.
William died in 1894 and was buried with many other DePriest family members in the Brown-DePriest Cemetery in Shannon Co.
She was still in Shannon Co, MO on the 1900 census.

Before 1910 Susan moved with her son John to Carterville, Jasper Co, Mo.
