KUHLEN - Funeral rites for Mrs. Veronica M. Kuhlen, 69 of 3417 13th Street, will be conducted by Rev. James Buschelman at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Isidore Catholic Church. Burial will be in St Patrick Cemetery near Platte Center.
The body will lie in state after 1 p.m. Sunday at McKown Funeral Home with rosary at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Mrs. Kuhlen died Friday morning in Behlen Community Hospital after a lingering illness.
She was born at Norfolk, Dec. 2, 1905, the daughter of Ferdinand and Agnes (Schneck) Thomas. On Sep. 1, 1937 she married Henry J. Kuhlen at St, Bonaventure Catholic Church, Columbus, and they lived at Platte Center until moving to Columbus in 1971. Here she was a member of St. Isidore Parish and Christian Mothers.
Preceded in death by her husband, Dec. 25, 1971, she is survived by two sons, Leon and Dan of Columbus; three daughters, Mrs. Tom (Marilyn) McPhillips of Columbus, Mrs. Don (Nancy) Frauendorfer of Humphrey and Mrs. Don (Arlene) Otterpohl of Lindsay, eight grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers and five sisters: Adolph Thomas of Albion; Joe of Platte Center; Raymond and Mrs. Paul (Hildegard) Franks of Wyandotte, Mich.; Mrs. William (Erna) Steiner and Mrs. Everett (Martha) Jones of Columbus; Mrs. Rudy (Margaret) Steiner of Clarkson; Mrs. Frederick (Rose) Hoffman of Battle Creek.
Her parents; brothers, Helmuth, Herman, Fritz, Rudolph; one infant brother and two infant sisters preceded her in death. per DON
