Mr. Piontek was a staff sergeant in the Air Force during WWII.
On June 9, 1948, he was united in marriage to Marie "Ricki" Obermark at St. Francis Borgia Church, Washington.
He was a member of St. Gertrude's Parish and the Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Piontek was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elizabeth Piontek.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Piontek; one son, Ron Piontek and wife Maria, Fenton; two daughters, Patricia MacLellan and husband James, Washington, and Peggy Schroeder and husband Thomas, St. Louis; five brothers, Larry Piontek and wife Sally, Bob Piontek and wife Agnes, John Piontek and wife Joan, Donald Piontek and wife Lucille, and Leonard Piontek and wife Gerry, all of Washington; one sister, Rita Skornia, Washington; six grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 4, at St. Gertrude's Church, Krakow, with Father Dennis Zacheis officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
