CALLED BY DEATH
Ernest Zill passed away at his home on St. Paul street Tuesday morning at 7 o'clock, after a short illness, of cancer of the lungs. Deceased was born in Marbach, Saxony, Germany, in Sept. 1849, coming to America in 1853 and locating in Manitowoc county. He owned a farm in the town of Meeme for many years, where he was well-known and respected as an honest and industrious man and a good neighbor.
After disposing of his farm 15 years ago, he moved with his wife to West Bend, where the couple lived eight years; they then spent one year in Fond du Lac, coming to Kiel six years ago, where they have since resided.
He leaves his wife, nee Augusta Fiedler, and the following children, a son having died: Herman Zill of the town of Herman, Sheb. County, Mrs. August Kippenholt* of Montana, Mrs. Wm. Albrecht of Meeme and Mrs. Chas. Cerull of Eaton.
There are 19 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. The funeral will be held on Thursday afternoon, with interment in the Kiel cemetery, Rev. Rech officiating.
