Sarah J. Tweten, 73, passed away at the Harvey Hospital on 30 Jan 1966. Funeral services were held at the American Lutheran Church at Hamberg on 2 Feb 1966 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Otto Iszler officiating. Interment will be at the Viking Cemetery. Neuenschwander Brothers are in charge of the funeral. Pallbearers were Erhard Haug, Elroy Bredeson, Kenneth Bredeson, Chester Tweten, Virgil Hagen and Delmer Hagen. Sarah Josephine Hagen was born the daughter of Eric and Lisa Hagen on 16 Jun 1892 in Wells County, ND. She was baptized and confirmed in the Viking Church. She was united in marriage to Melvin Tweten on 25 Oct 1919 and to this union two children were born. In 1930 they moved to Hamberg where she has resided since. She is survived by one daughter Mrs. Lyle (Judith) Nerlien of Curlew, IA; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Bredeson of Wellsburg, ND, Mrs. Gena Tweten of Minot, and Mrs. Frank Risovi of Devils Lake, ND and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Tweten, one son, Ernest Tweten, her parents, four brothers and one sister.
