LeRoy Martin Scheuermann, 78, died Oct. 19, 2009, at Promise Regional Medical Center. He was born Feb. 17, 1931, and graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1950. He was a lifetime Hutchinson resident. He was the son of Jacob and Leta Smith Scheuermann. He was a lifetime member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. He enjoyed retirement from Master Machine Tools Inc. after 40 years. He was also retired from the Kansas National Guard with 21 years of service. He enjoyed wood working, square and round dancing, belonged to the Kansas Round Dance Association and the Salt City Squares.

On May 22, 1954, he married Dolores Joan Dee Harrison in Hutchinson. She survives. He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa. He is survived by a son, Randy, DVM, and wife Vicki, Newton; daughters, Deedra Allen and husband Tom, Hutchinson, and Renee Davis and husband Forrest, Round Rock, Texas; six grandchildren, Joshua and Matthew Scheuermann, Adriane Austin and husband Nicholas, Mason Allen, Cortney and Drew Davis; great-grandson, Evan Austin; brothers, Donald, Hutchinson, Raymond, Bison; and sisters, Helen Hackney, Coldwater, and Elnora Unruh, Hutchinson. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Leona Williams; and brother, Clarence.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Seth Meyer presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gable Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with military graveside rites conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard.
