Monica C. Leukam, 71, of Sauk Centre, died on Monday, Feb. 8, at her home.

The Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 12, at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre.

Casket bearers were her sons and son-in-law, Denny, Duane, Don, Randy, and John Leukam, and Jerry Schurman. Cross bearer was Kari Leukam and scripture bearer was Jodi Leukam. Honorary bearers were Donna and Dorothy Haider, Delores Kampsen, Janette Mayers, Florentine Schmiesing, Rosie Dickhaus, Betty Schneider, Lucille Jansen, Delores Orth, Valeria Peters, Joyce Meyer, Amelia Boeckers, Lois Egeland, Joan Peters, Irene Rieland, Alice Peters, Janette Moritz, Bernice Kuefler, Cecil Loxtercamp, Dorothy Duevel, Selma Tschida, Eileen Dold, and Claudette Jennissen.

The Rev. Bernard Kahlhamer officiated. Interment followed in Calvary Cemetery. Monica Leukam was born on March 14, 1927, in Spring Hill, Minn., to John and Frances (Lieser) Meyer. She was united in marriage to Dillo Leukam on May 2, 1949, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Spring Hill. They farmed near Elrosa in Getty Township, Stearns County, for 30 years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Aid, St. Margaret's Mission Group, We Kan Do It Homemaker's Club, and the Eagles Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Dillo Leukam of Sauk Centre; daughter and sons, Jane (Jerry) Schurman, Kenny (Kathy), Duane (Bonnie), all of Sauk Centre, Don (Sue) of Belgrade, Randy (Terri) and John (Monique) of Andover; 14 grandchildren; brother, Leander (Alvera) Meyer of Richmond; and sister, Mary Ann (Ray) Gerding of Cold Spring.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Sylvester and Gerald Meyer.
