Kevin was baptized and confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolbach, Nebraska. He attended rural School District 43 near Wolbach, Nebraska and graduated from Wolbach, Nebraska High School in 1973. He attended Kearney State College, now The University of Nebraska at Kearney, Kearney, Nebraska receiving his bachelor's degree and later his master's in business administration. He taught in the Cedar Rapids School District for one year.
In 1983, he moved to Pilger, Nebraska working for Henry Wiechman. Kevin was also employed by Husker Concrete and the Farmers Co-op in Pilger, Nebraska before beginning his career with Timpte Trailers in Wayne, Nebrska in 1987. He was currently working for Great Dane Trailers in Wayne, Nebraska as their pre-fit material planner.
Kevin was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pilger, Nebraska holding various offices, serving currently as elder; member of the Pilger, Nebraska Volunteer Fire & Rescue, serving as an EMT and as secretary; served on the Village of Pilger, Nebraska Tree/Park Board and was a member of its Planning Commission.
Kevin enjoyed being outdoors and was always planting trees, singing at weddings and funerals, loved football, watching his children grow up and attend their sporting events, camping and could always be seen playing with the little kids at family functions.
Survivors are Kevin's parents, Francis and Rose Marie Kolar of Wolbach, Nebraska; spouse Sally Kolar, of Pilger, Nebraska; daughter, Whitney Kolar of Pilger, Nebraska and special friend Ryan Miller; son Nicholas Kolar of Pilger, Nebraska; sisters; Kathleen and husband Dick Wiechman of Lincoln, Nebraska; Kelley and husband Kevin Sok of Grand Island, Nebraska; brother, Kerry and wife Brenda Kolar of Wolbach; sisters-in-law Kathy and husband Gary Koehlmoos of Pilger, Nebraska; Deb Podany of Wisner, Nebraska; brothers-in-laws Warren Podany of Pilger, Nebraska, Tom and wife Doris Podany of Wisner,Nebraska; Terry Luedke of Holdrege, Nebraska and a host of friends and relatives.
Kevin was welcomed into The Heavenly Home by his grandparents, Charles and Elsie Kolar; Fred and Leona Merchen; favorite uncle, Bob Kolar; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Waldo and Mary Podany; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Luedke.
