Fred H. Metzler Taken by Death

Fred Herman Metzler, 73, native of California and resident of San Luis Obispo for nearly 20 years, died yesterday at his home, 1822 Chorro street.

He was born in San Jose April 5, 1880. A resident of San Luis Obispo since 1934. Mr. Metzler was formerly in business in San Miguel, later moving to San Jose where he was employed by Sears, Roebuck and company. Transferred here by the company he retired several years ago.

Mr. Metzler was a member of the Masonic Lodge in San Miguel.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Stella Metzler of San Luis Obispo; a daughter, Mrs. Inez Hamann of Atascadero; a son, Fred H. Metzler Jr. of Santa Barbara; and five grandchildren.

Masonic services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the R.F. Richardson company funeral chapel with officers of King David's lodge officiating. Burial will be in the family plot of the Lawn Memorial cemetery.
