GLADBROOK — Leta Paustian, of Gladbrook, died Dec. 6, 2007, at Westbrook Acres Nursing Home in Gladbrook.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook, with Rev. Robert Doner officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in rural Gladbrook. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Goettsch-Perrin Funeral Home in Gladbrook.

Leta was born on Sept. 29, 1915, to Henry and Alvena (Landt) Storjohann. Leta was educated at a country school in Spring Creek Township. She married Vern Paustian on Sept. 25, 1940. They farmed all their married life on the farm where her husband was born. They retired from farming in 1990 and moved to Gladbrook in the fall of 2001.

Leta belonged to Peace United Church of Christ, where memorials can be directed.

Leta is survived by a daughter, Vivian Weuve of Traer; a son, Darrell (Jeanne) Paustian of Gladbrook; three grandchildren: Pam (Greg) Hoppal of Phoenix, Ariz., Suzanne (Bernard) Schwartze of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Nicole Clapp of Lancaster, Wis.; two great-grandchildren, Melissa and Matthew Hoppal; sisters: Ellen Sienknecht, Ina Billerbeck, Alverta Dobson and Helen Harders; and a brother, Alvin Storjohann.
