The body of Felix H. Whidden, who died of a heart attack at his temporary residence at Tampa early Wednesday morning, was scheduled to arrive here at 5:30 this morning, accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Josephine Ertel Whidden, who went to the West Coast Wednesday afternoon.

Mr. Whidden was widely known on the East Coast, having been a farmer, real estate operator, city marshal and tax collector many years ago and more recently aspirant for the office of sheriff in 1928 and again in 1932.

For the last six months he had been making his headquarters at Tampa where he was engaging in the real estate business.

Tampa authorities notified local police, who in turn notified Mrs. Whidden at her home at 903 South Rosemary avenue.

Mr. Whidden was born at New Port Richey but came to the East Coast to make his home at 20 years of age. He followed different pursuits until he became a deputy under Sheriff George Baker He was named town marshal and was re-elected.

After leaving office he became a farmer and he was a firm believer in the county and often predicted its future lay in the agricultural resources. On organization of the Palm Beach Growers' association, he became its first president.

Mr. Whidden was the son of William Elias Whidden and Nancy Lenora Branch Whidden (of Sumter county).

He is survived by four children by his first marriage and one by the second. The four are Donald and Ernest Whidden of this city, Mrs. Ed Poole, Mobile, Ala. and Russell Whidden, United States Army. His son Eugene, eleven years of age, is by his second marriage.

Two brothers, J.J. Whidden, of Tampa, and W.L. Whidden of this city, and two sisters, Mrs. J.J. Demenston, of Clewiston, and Mrs. Navie Morgan of Fort Pierce, also survive.

The funeral will be held at St. Ann's Church on Friday morning at 9 a.m.. Burial will be at Woodlawn cemetery.
