Melvyn J. Waybrant, known as Mel Waybrant, age 57, of Kincheloe, Michigan passed away early Saturday morning, January 26, 2008 at Northern Michigan Regional Hospital.

Mel was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan on August 17, 1950. He graduated from Sault High School with the Class of 1968. He was a United States Veteran, serving in the Navy on board the USS John F. Kennedy. On August 29, 1981, he married Marsha (Jackson) in Rudyard, Michigan. Mel worked as a contractor. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping, and playing his guitar. Mel also loved to paint, draw, and sculpt.

Melvin Waybrant was survived by his wife; Marsha Waybrant, his father; John Ernest Waybrant of Brimley, MI, his four children; Melissa Diane (Jim) Fegan of Glendale, AZ, Lisa Leanne Chambers of Brimley, MI, Gene Edward Chambers of Brimley, MI, and Lisa Marie (Chad) Chambers of Livonia, MI, and four grandchildren; Bobbi Fegan, Jamie Fegan, Kaela Chambers, and Tyler Chambers. He is also survived by two brothers; Russ (Candice) Waybrant of Sault Ste. Marie, MI and Gary Waybrant of Brimley, MI, a special sister-in-law; Donna Hall of Rudyard, MI, several loving brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother; Lois (Hixon) Waybrant.
