Roberta McCaslin, 88, of Amarillo died Friday, Oct. 30, 2009.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Roberta was born Feb. 1, 1921, in North Bend, Neb., to Arthur and Clara Hanks. She married Mason Kenneth McCaslin on July 6, 1942, in Mississippi, and was happily married until he preceded her in death in 1987. She was a longtime member of Kingswood United Methodist Church, where she was very active for many years.

She enjoyed painting, crafts, gardening, fishing and was a handywoman who was always willing to help others and would tackle any project. She adored her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a sister, Cleora Hanks; and a grandson, Todd Pettigrew.

Survivors include two daughters, Karen Wallace and husband Jackie of Amarillo and Judy Pettigrew of Kennedale; three granddaughters, Debbie Jackson and husband Gary and Wendy Heymer and husband Chad, all of Amarillo, and Stacey Pettigrew Bruner and husband Curtis of Fort Worth; and eight great-grandchildren, Angela, Kevin, Brittany, Bryan, Tommy, Camrynn, Cheyenne and Dylan.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 1 to 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
