Agawam funeral set for Lisa Ziegert, 24

The funeral of Lisa Marie Ziegert, 24, of V 3 Belden Court, will be conducted on Thursday morning at Colonial Funeral Home, and Sacred Heart Church in Feeding Hills.

Burial will be in Springfield Street Cemetery .

She was found dead Sunday in Agawam.

Born in Holyoke, Ziegert lived in Agawam from 1974. She was graduated from Agawam High School in 1986.

She received a degree in elementary education from Westfield State College in 1990.

Ziegert was a teacher's aide in the special education department at Agawam Middle School, and was a clerk at the Brittany Card & Gift Shop in Agawam. She also worked at the Perry Lane Camp for four summers.

She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, and taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine classes there.

While in high school, she played tenor saxophone and flute in the concert band. She had also been a drum majorette for the school's marching band for two years. She worked for the school newspaper and literary magazine, Unicorn.

Honor Society She was a member of the National Honor Society and the American Field Service.

She leaves her parents, George and Diane "Dee" (Goodreau) Ziegert of Agawam; a brother, David G. of Los Angeles; two sisters, Lynne A. and Sharon L. Ziegert of Agawam; her grandparents, Edwin O. and Bertha (Beaulieu) Ziegert of West Springfield and Charles A. Goodreau of West Springfield.

Calling hours will be Wednesday afternoon and evening.

The funeral home's crisis team will be available for counseling and support programs Wednesday at the funeral home. A special program will be held for children under the age of 16 in the morning. An adult program will be offered in the evening.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lisa M. Ziegert Memorial Fund, in care of Jack Patterson at Heritage Bank, 1325 Springfield St., Feeding Hills, 01030.
