Robert F. Wellner, 85, of Baldwinsville, died Thursday, November 5, 2009, at University Hospital. He worked for General Electric for several years and retired from Carrier Corp. after 30 years. He was a Navy veteran, serving during WWII. He was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Syracuse. He was an accomplished vocalist. He was predeceased by a son, Douglas E., in 1976, and a sister, Jean Cameron Wellner. Surviving: his wife, Flora L. of Baldwinsville; a daughter, Susan Loniewski of Lancaster, NY; three sons, Robert B. of MD, David A. of Cicero and Frederick A. of Lafayette; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Monday, November 9, 2009, at Gates Funeral Home, Inc. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Warners. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home, 29 W. Genesee Street, Baldwinsville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Baldwinsville First United Methodist Church, 17 West Genesee St., Baldwinsville, NY 13027 or the Seventh- Day Adventist Church, 2511 W. Genesee Street, Syracuse, New York.
