Edna Mikkelsen, 101, of Fergus Falls died Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at the Broen Memorial Home.
She was born February 27, 1902 in Audubon, IA to Soren and Anna Maria Neilsen and was raised on a farm in Clitherall Township. She later moved to Fergus Falls and cared for her mother during her last years and worked at Park Region Bakery.
On August 27, 1949 she married Thomas Mikkelsen and they resided on a farm near Evansville. After his death on April 3, 1969 she moved back to Fergus Falls and since December 2000 has resided at the Broen Memorial Home.
She is survived by special nieces, Jan Berg and Lorraine Hand of Grand Rapids, Mary Kolle of Fergus Falls, Marian (Phil) Holte of Fargo, ND, Carol Jean (Jerry) Zastrow of Alexandria and Evelyn (Alex) Wagoner of Milwaukee, WI and two nephews, Richard Herness of Dalton and Duane (Arlene) Nelson of Amboy, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas; six sisters, Christina (Henry) Herness, Anna (Rudolph) Samuelson, Kate (James) Welch, Julia (Lewis) Storey, Martha (Walter) Heald and one sister in infancy; two brothers, Hans (Martha) Nelson and Nels (Emilia) Nelson.
