Deceased was born in the vicinity of Sumneytown, but has been a resident of Hatfield township many years. In early life he followed carpentering but later attended the Philadelphia markets once a week with country produce. He married a daughter of the late Rev. Henry Sabold, who survives him with the following grown children: Allen and Milton, of Philadelphia; Mrs. Rev. Heil, of Allentown. He also leaves three brothers and one sister Jacob of Philadelphia, John of Mauch Chunk, Edward of Allentown, and Mrs. Louisa Kurtz of Norristown.
For some years past Mr. Reed, who was one of the origianl subcribers to the Reporter, has not enjoyed the best health and has given his attention to his property interests. He was cheerful withal, and his form was familiar on our streets, where he loved to greet familiar faces. In the death of Mr. Reed one of the few remaining links in the chain of Lansdale's early history is shattered.
