A native of Madison County, he had lived in Buncombe County for the past 64 years. He retired from Kearfott Corp. in 1962 after 10 years of service and was a member of Community Chapel Baptist Church.
He was a son of the late Henry and Rebecca Jane Coates Arrington and husband of the late Okra Wallen Arrington.
Surviving are five daughters, Pauline Hawkins of Leicester, Velda Morgan of Candler, Eva McClure of Asheville, Mable Crow of Black Mountain and Jean Eveleigh of Gastonia; four sons, Everett and J.B. Arrington of Leicester, Henry Arrington of Asheville and Rex Arrington of Candler; a sister, Verd Reese of Candler; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. The Revs. Harold Cable and Troy Allen will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
