Evelyn Pearl Geoffrion, 75, of Oak Ridge, died Thursday, March 8, 2001, at her home.

Mrs. Geoffrion was born Oct. 13, 1925, in Harrogate, the daughter of Morgan Lanier Eads and Dora Ellen Chadwell Eads.

She was retired from Union Carbide Nuclear Division as a machine operator at the Oak Ridge K-25 Site. She had also worked at PicAir and had served as president of the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers union local, of which she was very proud, her family said.

She was the widow of Neil Basil Geoffrion, who died in 1966 [sic 1965]. She was a Baptist.

Mrs. Geoffrion is survived by her son, Basil Neil Geoffrion and his fiancée, Linda Helmich, of Oak Ridge; her daughter, Audrey Ellen Moore, also of Oak Ridge; her brothers, Jack Morgan Eads and his wife, Delores, of Frankfort, Ind., and Ralph Morgan Eads and his wife, May, of Kissimmee, Fla.; three grandchildren, Geoffrey Lynn Moore and Cathy Ellen Moore, both of Oak Ridge, and Paul Allen Geoffrion and his wife, Gayla, of Wickliffe, Ohio; and by one great-grandson, Anthony Gabriel Cox of Oak Ridge.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by 14 brothers and sisters and a granddaughter, Stephanie K. Geoffrion.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park with the Rev. Lawrence Ford officiating.
