Thomas D Cahill was residing in Los Angeles County, Los Angeles, Calif. when he enlisted on 18 May, 1942 as a Private directly into the AAC. He was born in New Hampshire in 1921 and is White, a Citizen, had completed 4 years of high-school and was working as a clerk in a general office. Tom was still single at enlistment.

Thomas D Cahill became a commissioned Bombardier/Navigator. Tom was serving in the Mediterranean Theatre, flying Combat Missions over the Brenner, Italy.

Tom was on the B-25 Mitchell "9 M" when it took a direct hit over the target in Italy on 5 Feb. 1945. Lt Cahill flew Combat Missions in the B-25 Mitchells of the 340th Bomb Group, 486th Bomb Squadron based out of the Alesan Air Base on CORSICA, 1944/45.
