Libbie Julia Becker went home to her Lord and Savior on Dec. 6, 2009 at the age of 92. She passed away peacefully at home after having lived a long and fruitful life.
Libbie was born on July 12, 1917 in Williamson County, Texas, near the community of Waterloo. She grew up in the Taylor area. Libbie met Robert Schneider as a teen and they were married in 1935. After their marriage, Robert and Libbie lived and farmed in the Thorndale, Wilson and Woodrow communities. Robert preceded her in death on May 18, 1965.
Libbie later married J.W. Becker on Sept. 20, 1968 in Slaton. J.W. preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 2001. She and J.W. were active members of the Slaton Senior Citizens Center. Libbie was a homemaker, farmer, nurse's aid at Slaton Care Center and member of Slaton's Grace Lutheran Church. Libbie moved to Wimberley in early 2002 and to San Marcos in 2005.
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009 in Englewood Cemetery, with Rev.Yvonne Kiebler officiating. Services are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service in Slaton.
