COLUMBUS -- Ruth Wendt, 94, of Columbus, died with her loving family at her side on Friday, April 12, 2013, at the Golden Living Center in Columbus.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus with Rev. Timothy White officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at Gass Haney Funeral Home, and continue 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Ruth B. Wendt was born March 7, 1919, in Leigh, to Otto and Louise (Bakenhus) Muhle. She attended district school south of Leigh. On June 10, 1937, she was united in marriage to Paul Wendt at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, rural Leigh. They moved to a farm just northeast of Columbus where they farmed all their lives. Ruth worked on the farm and was a homemaker. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Ruth is survived by daughter: Carolyn (Stan) Claussen of Fort Worth, Texas, son: Michael (Cindy) Wendt of Columbus, daughter: Linda (Gordon) Osten of Chandler, Ariz., six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and sister: Elda Mae Urban of Leigh. per ANNA
