Edna Ruth Leatherman Huffstetler, age 86 of the Brian Center, and formerly of Flint Street in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, December 10, 2009.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. on Monday, December 14, at Bethphage Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Mitschke officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. in the Family Life Center prior to the service.
Ms. Huffstetler was born August 23, 1923 in Lincoln County to the late Russell and Laura Wise Leatherman.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Lauren Leonhardt.
Ms. Huffstetler worked as a school teacher for Gaston County Public Schools for 40 years.
She is survived by two sons, Ronnie Leonhardt and wife Sandra, and Tim Leonhardt and wife Lisa all of Lincolnton; three sisters, Dorothy Baxter and Edith Boyles of Lincolnton, and Hazel Howell of Cherryville; five grandchildren, Jeff Leonhardt, Amanda Hinkle, Josh Leonhardt, Karsen Leonhardt, and Kylee Leonhardt; and four great-grandchildren, Wesley Leonhardt, Katlyn Leonhardt, Kara Hinkle and Lily Hinkle.
