BLESSING
Monday morning at 10 o'clock occurred the death of Peter Blessing, one of the most prominent citizens of Lake township. Two weeks ago, Mr. Blessing was the victim of a runaway accident and suffered the racture of a leg.
The fracture was reduced, but the advanced age of the sufferer made his recovery a matter of question from the first. He was seventy-three years and eight months of age.
He was born in Wurtemburg, Germany, on December 13, 1825, He worked as a laborer in Buffalo for several years, and was married to Miss Katharine Dosch on July 12, 1855. The same year, they moved to this county and settled in Lake Township, where they have lived ever since.
The deceased leaves, besides his wife, seven children. Two children have died. The living are George, Henry, Charles, William, John and Fred, and Mrs. Mary Frick; all of Lake and Washington townships.
Mr. Blessing was one of the successful farmers of this section of the county, and he had a host of friends both in the country and in Fort Wayne. His sad accident has been a matter of concern to numerous friends ever since it occurred and the an-
nouncement of his death will be received by them with sincere regret.
The funeral will occur at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning and
at 10:30 o'clock from the St. John's Lutheran church in Lake township. Interment will be at the Eel River Cemetery.
